Okay, enough possums for now. There will be more later. So, one day, Carolyn looked out the back patio window and spotted it: A hummingbird nest in a tree,
about 18 inches from the glass, directly above where Jackie's dish is situated. For days, no work was done in the house...not by her, not by my
maid, not by me, not by anyone. And everyone who came over just sat or stood and stared at it for a long time as the mother hummingbird sat on
her eggs, warding off all who came near. My pool guy was practically strafed the same day I took this photo with my Sony Mavica.

Then, one morn, I was rushing off for a very important business meeting and — lo and behold — I spotted two hungry heads
peeking out of the nest. I thought, "I'll take pictures of them when I get back." Then — halfway to the car — I thought, "What if
they're not there when I get get home?" I got to the meeting ten minutes late and I had a terrific excuse: "Sorry...I had to go back and take
pictures of baby hummingbirds!" Everyone understood. Some of them asked if I had the pictures with me and were annoyed that I didn't.

Okay, we've had cats, possums, even hummingbirds. What's next? Well, how about a raccoon? You'll note those are the
same dishes the cats and possums have been eating from. Lately, the beasts seem to come in shifts. At 9:00, I'll look out and see a cat
there. Then at 9:10, there'll be a possum. Then at 9:20, it'll be Raccoon Time and then, when the masked one leaves, a cat or possum will
amble by to see what's left. Jackie the Cat seems to tolerate the possums and sometimes watches them dine. But both cats and possums
clear out when the fella above is snacking.

Here are some more raccoon shots. Oddly enough, the flash on the camera doesn't seem to bother them at all. Noise does but
not light. My first agent was the same way.
