In 1995, the fine folks at Wildstorm Productions came out with a set of Groo Trading Cards. These should not be confused with the
Groo Card Game issued by Archangel Entertainment. There were 153 cards in the Wildstorm set, featuring splendid art on the front by
Señor Aragonés and witty-but-illegible quips on the back by M.E. There were also some special, hard-to-find "Images of Groo"
cards by other, non-Sergio artists, as well as some very special, impossible-to-find Groo signature cards featuring original Sergio doodles.
(I'll tell you how hard the signature cards were to find: To this day, I've never seen one in person.)
The trading cards were so neat that they quickly sold out and are in scarce supply today. This has rankled some collectors who
bought oodles of packs but never managed to accumulate even one complete set. We have seen complete sets selling for over $100, by the way.
Well, as a public service, we here at Groo Central will try to help you complete your set. This is because, unlike those who do
other comics, we actually care about our readers.
(You think I'm fibbing? Test it. Go on...write to the people who do X-Men and ask if they'll help you complete your
set of Groo Trading Cards. They'll laugh in your face. Ask the people who do Green Lantern if they'll help you complete your set
of Groo Trading Cards. They'll mock you behind your back. Only we will help you complete your set of Groo Trading Cards.)
If you collected the Groo trading cards, you can participate in the Great Groo Trading Card Exchange. Here's how it works...
1. Send us all your duplicate Groo cards. This is so we can distribute them to other needy Groo fans. Most
Groo fans are needy in one way or another.
2. Send us a list of the Groo cards you are missing. And remember — this only applies to the 153
Sergio-drawn cards in the Wildstorm Groo trading card set. It does not apply to the "Images of Groo" cards in that set or to the
signature cards or to the Groo Card Game.
2A. NEW RULE, JUST ADDED: If you are seeking four or more cards, you must send a minimum of three times the number of
cards you seek. That is, if you need ten cards, you must send at least thirty. Send all the duplicates you have but make sure you send at
least the minimum. If you need #19 (the card of Sergio) or #20 (the card of Mark), you must send at least ten cards in exchange for each of
them — and even then, we may not be able to fill your order for a long time. We are often out of those two cards.
3. The address is below. Include a stamped, self-addressed envelope. If you live outside the U.S., see if
you can get a friend in the states to forward mail for you. We are way too stupid here to deal with foreign postage. Please DO NOT
SEND CASH FOR CARDS. We do not sell them. Do not send cash or International Reply Coupons for postage, either. We deal here
only in stamped, self-addressed envelopes.
4. Be patient. If we don't have all your cards available, we will hold your request until someone sends in
those numbers. About 90% of all requests are filled within a week or two of receipt but every now and then, a request has to sit around for a
few months before we have the right cards available, especially when the person needs #19 or #20.
5. We will do our best to supply the cards you're missing but there are no guarantees. Participate at your own
risk.
And that's pretty much how it works. Remember — this is a free service from Groo...the comic book that cares about
its readers. Unlike some other comics we could name. Here's the
address...

IMPORTANT-SOUNDING ANNOUNCEMENT: We
used to have a policy that if you sent us something to autograph and a stamped,
self-addressed envelope, we'd sign the item and send it back to you. We
aren't doing that anymore. Some people abused the service while others
sent us valuable issues of Groo or pieces of original art and then a
package got lost in the mail and there was much unhappiness. So from now
on, no autographs by mail. If you want something signed, bring it to a
convention where we're appearing. The above address is only for the
exchange of Groo trading cards. If you send us anything else, we may not
send it back at all but we certainly won't send it back signed. Sorry.
