STAN FREBERG WITH THE ORIGINAL CAST
1959 [LP] Stan's second album collects his biggest hits that weren't on the previous album.  The Capitol lawyers were apparently no longer worried about a lawsuit from Bridey Murphy as they allowed the proper name on the label.  Stan says that when people ask him to autograph this album, he signs his name very tiny on the cast on his foot.

Banana Boat • Wun'erful, Wun'erful • Quest for Bridey Murphy • Trouble • Tele-Vee-Shun • Little Blue Riding Hood • Ba-Ba-Ball and Chain • Green Chri$tma$

OREGON!  OREGON!
1959 [LP] Commercial album produced for Blitz-Weinhard Brewing Company.

THE OLD PAYOLA ROLL BLUES
Released February 29, 1960 [45 RPM] Jesse White supplies the voice of a talent scout who makes a rock 'n' roll star out of a teenager chosen at random.  All it takes is bad music and a little payola.  Stan's greatest assault on the record industry is a bit tardy and a bit heavy-handed, and like most comedians of the day, he viewed rock music as a passing fad, which it wasn't.  But it's still one of his funnier records.

KAISER FOIL SALESMAN FACES LIFE!
1959 [10" record] One of Freberg's greatest successes in the advertising game was his 1958-1960 campaign for Kaiser Foil, a smaller company that was getting crowded off the shelves by Reynolds Wrap.  Though dubious about Stan's proposed approach, Kaiser saw its market share increase markedly with soap opera style commercials that admitted to and lamented Kaiser's poor distribution.  There was also a record, done primarily for retailers, in the style of the ad campaign.  All of this featured the voice of radio legend Jim Ameche, along with Stan and others.

A Special Message to the Grocer • Meet Smathers • Scraping Up the Rent • Shutting Off the Gas • Bringing Home the Bacon • The Bedtime Story • Eviction Day

MICRO-CHIP IN HI-FI
1960 [LP] As Stan's "soap opera" advertising campaign for Kaiser Foil came to an end, he consulted on (but does not seem to appear on) this collection of music and commercials establishing the firm's next approach.

COMMENTS FOR OUR TIMES
1960 [45 RPM] Text to come.

STAN FREBERG PRESENTS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, VOL. 1
1961 [LP] Hailed by many as either the funniest historical record ever made or the most historical comedy record, this was to have been Volume 1 of three in close succession but after the first, Stan got involved (to his eternal regret) with Broadway producer David Merrick.  Merrick wanted to put the entire work, including the other two acts, on stage in New York.  The production got as far as a rehearsal workshop before Freberg and Merrick clashed to the point of Stan pulling out.  It was several decades later that he was able to return to the material and issue Volume 2.  The first installment is a classic on its own, however, and features Jesse White, Peter Leeds, Byron Kane, Colleen Collins, Helen Kleeb, Shep Menken, Walter Tetley, Marvin Miller, June Foray, Barney Phillips, Maurice Dallimore, Peter Forster and John Frank, with Paul Frees as the narrator.

Overture • Columbus Discovers America • Pilgrim's Progress • Thanksgiving Story (Under the Double Turkey) • Sale of Manhattan • Boston Tea Party • Declaration of Independence • Betsy Ross and the Flag (Everybody Wants to Be an Art Director) • Washington Crosses the Delaware (Command Decision) • Yankee Doodle Go Home (Spirit of '76) • Battle of Yorktown • Finale

THE MADISON AVE. WEREWOLF
1963 [LP] - Single LP release of second disc of The Best of the Stan Freberg Shows.

STAN FREBERG
1962? [EP] What appears to be Freberg's final release in the EP format was done primarily for a kind of jukebox that sprung up in the early sixties playing 33 1/3 RPM records, two songs to a side.  Columbia released a wave of records to fill them with all their artists but then the format died a sudden and horrible death.  Some of the EPs, like this one, did receive some retail distribution.

St. George and the Dragonet • Banana Boat • John and Marsha • The Yellow Rose of Texas

UNCLE STAN WANTS YOU!
1962 [LP] A two-record commercial LP of advertising spots created by Freberg for the United States Army recruiting drive.

THE BEST OF STAN FREBERG
1963 [LP] After Capitol put A Child's Garden of Freberg and Stan Freberg With the Original Cast out of print, they released this LP combining the best of both, and kept it in their line for years.  Ms. Hammerschlaugen is for some reason back to her pseudonym.

Yellow Rose of Texas • St. George and the Dragonet • John and Marsha • C'est Si Bon • Trouble • Tele-Vee-Shun • The Great Pretender • Heartbreak Hotel • Rock Island Line • Try • Banana Boat • The Quest for Bridey Hammerschlaugen.

ALL TIME COMEDY HITS
1963 [LP] A compilation album of comedy material by various artists from Capitol Records.  Freberg is represented by John and Marsha and St. George and the Dragonet.

FREBERG UNDERGROUND
1966 [LP] Freberg had a good idea: Go back to the format of his radio show but do it for record albums on (perhaps) a bi-monthly basis.  The material was sharp but the concept, which he called "pay radio," didn't catch on and this was the only release in the series.  The cast included Charles Lane, Naomi Lewis, Bill Woodson. June Foray, Peter Leeds, Byron Kane, Donna Freberg Jr, Jud Conlon's Rhythmaires and Billy May's orchestra.

Opening • Father of the Year Award • The Flackman and Reagan • Digit Dialing Demonstration • Pop Art Interview • Anybody Here Remember Radio? • Oh, Dat Freeway System • Poor Bobby Baker • Dey Took Away My Diners Club Card • Which Is the Girl? Which Is the Boy? • Closing

THE FLACKMAN AND REAGAN
1966 [45 RPM] This single release from Freberg Underground parodied the then-current election in California with incumbent Edmund G. "Pat" Brown running against newcomer-to-politics Ronald Reagan.  Done neatly in the style of the concurrent Batman TV show — with Freberg playing both Flackman (Batman) and Reagan (Robin) — the single got some amount of airplay in the state, especially its closing tune, a parody of George M. Cohan's Give My Regards to Broadway.

MORE HERE THAN MEETS THE EAR
1966 [1-sided LP] This record of radio advertising spots was produced and pressed by Freberg, Ltd. for the Radio Advertising Bureau.  A very good sampler of the humor that Stan brought to advertising in the sixties.

The Disaster Corporation of America • The Disaster Corporation of America Revisited • Do People Really Listen to Radio Commercials? • Marshall McMedium Interview • The Electronic Dress • Sarah Vaughan In Person! Who Listens to Radio?

1977 [LP] A three record set issued by Warner Brothers, featuring cuts of great comedy records.  The great comedy record of Stan's that's included is St. George and the Dragonet.

1985 [Small LP] Freberg was the narrator for the Saturday morning cartoon show, The Wuzzles, and his voice appears on this children's record made from the soundtrack of one episode.

THE BEST OF STAN FREBERG
???? [LP] In the eighties, someone at MFP Records in England apparently decided the world wanted them to reissue their earlier album of Freberg hits with a really weird caricature of him on the cover.

Banana Boat Song • Heartbreak Hotel • Rock Island Line • The Great Pretender • The Quest For Bridey Hammerschlaugen • Try • Yellow Rose Of Texas • John and Marsha • St. George and the Dragonet • C'est Si Bon • (Ya Got) Trouble • Tele-Vee-Shun
